to not more than 250 lawyers in Iowa, and he has served as its President. Dave also has an active mediation practice and is certified by the American Academy of Alternative Dispute Resolution Attorneys. Dave has been active in numerous professional organizations and was elected as President
of the Iowa State Bar Association after serving many years as a member and chair of numerous committees and as a member of its Board of Governors. |

| He has represented Iowa in the American Bar Association and was recently elected to the Board of Governors of that organization of 450,000 members. He has also been active in the community, serving on the governing body and as President of the Mason City Public Library, the Mason City Civil Service Commission and the Mason City Country Club. Dave is a lifelong resident of Iowa and received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa. Upon graduation from law school he served one year as a law clerk (research assistant) to the Honorable M. L. Mason of the Iowa Supreme Court and then joined the firm. Dave and his wife of 39 years, Michaela (Mickey) have 3 children who have been an endless source of joy to them, and now 4 grandchildren and counting. In his private life he is a conservationist at heart and an outdoor enthusiast who has enjoyed backpacking, skiing, hunting, fishing, and golf. Indoors Dave prefers bridge. |
